Different Styles Of Heart Tattoos

The symbol of the heart can mean many different things for many different people. Considered one of the most commonly used symbols in the world and used for many years by different cultures, the heart is easily one of the most recognized symbols today. People that are considering a tattoo often choose the heart symbol as a portion of their tattoo to make a symbolic statement that will be present on their body as art forever.

The heart symbol is commonly used as a symbol of love and affection in many cultures. The symbol is the primary symbol used during Valentine's Day celebrations and is also used for weddings and cards professing love for another person. When a person incorporates a heart symbol into their tattoo, they are often using the symbol as an expression of love for another person.

There are many different styles of heart tattoos that may be chosen by a person to adorn their bodies. Different styles of heart tattoos have different meanings for different people so it is very important for the person that is getting the tattoo to carefully consider their choices before making a decision about which tattoo design is the best for them. Tattoos cannot be easily removed so it is best to be completely certain that the tattoo design is the one that you want before having it placed on your body.

One of the most common types of heart tattoos chosen today is the heart with a name in the center of it. The name can be written on a tattooed banner or directly onto the center of the heart in any type of script that the person desires. A classical example of this type of tattoo is the "MOM" tattoo that was common for sailors and bikers in second half of the 20th century.

Another common heart tattoo design is the broken heart. These tattoos are generally used to symbolize overwhelming grief or loss and are placed on the body in memory of another person. These tattoos are used to symbolize loved ones both alive and dead and it is often considered rude to inquire too deeply about the personal meaning of these tattoos.

People who would like to symbolize strength and courage in their tattoos choose heart symbols with swords or arrows running behind them or directly in front of them. A sword or dagger plunged into the top of the heart is used to represent betrayal while a heart with an arrow piercing it symbolizes focus and directed energy. The item that is piercing the heart and the direction that the item is going can have great symbolic meaning to the person that has chosen the tattoo.

A half of a broken heart is often used to indicate a great friendship or love and the other half of the heart is tattooed on the other person. When the two people place the separate halves of their hearts together, it makes a perfect single heart symbolizing two hearts that become one. There are many different types of heart tattoo designs available that can mean many different things to many different people.
